EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT FUND
Spartanburg County Emergency Management has partnered with the Spartanburg County Foundation to create the following 501(c)3 initiative: SPARTANBURG COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT FUND [02296] (see attached flyer). Below is the mission of this fund:

OUR MISSION: TO ASSIST OUR COMMUNITY WITH UNMET NEEDS WHILE ENHANCING OUR ABILITY TO PREPARE FOR, RESPOND TO, AND RECOVER FROM EMERGENCIES/DISASTERS

To help us achieve this mission, it will take a village, therefore we have created this Fund and are asking for the assistance of our Community Partners. Here are just a few things we hope this fund can afford us the opportunity to achieve:

-
Becoming a Type II HazMat Team (more robust HazMat team/Response)
-
Replacing our 1990’s retrofitted HazMat response truck
-
Enhancing Unified Command Response with Command Post Upgrades and IMT trainings
-
Improving Search and Rescue Response on the local and regional level
-
Addressing unmet needs in disaster response/recovery with a focus on debris removal, pet/people sheltering, damage assessment, emergency communication, interoperability and more
-
Strengthening EOC response capabilities via education and continued technological upgrades
-
Providing goods/services when requested with the desire to eventually have our own adequate space for our various initiatives, such as Regional People/Pet Sheltering, PPE/Sanitation supply provisions, Cleaning/Medical Equipment/supplies, weather radio/smoke alarms for Blitzes, etc
-
And much more

Of all the things noted above, you the donor can note what you would like your contribution to go towards. For anyone wishing to donate, please read below:

CLICK HERE TO REGISTER FOR EMERGENCY NOTIFICATIONS AND OUR SPECIAL MEDICAL NEEDS REGISTRY

To help grow our database with the most reliable information, we are strongly encouraging everyone to register on our Everbridge Community Notification Enrollment Page (CNE). The secure, customized CNE page allows our residents and businesses to add or update their contact information to ensure they will be included when an emergency, general, or weather message is sent – unlisted numbers, mobile numbers, TD/TTY requirements can all be entered. In addition, our SPECIAL MEDICAL NEEDS COMMUNITY can select that option and inform us of their needs. Therefore, take action now to make sure everyone in your family will be safe in an emergency.

Why should I register…

-
Emergency news or weather broadcasts may not be closed captioned (link to emergency blog)

-
Words moving across the bottom of a television screen may move very quickly.
-
The screen color or color of the text might make some information on television hard to read
-
If you have special medical needs, we need to know
